The project

Piano Grezzo begins with a simple question: how can we act on everyday life through artistic practice?

After years devoted to sculpture and the visual arts, I began to see in design a way to bring aesthetic research out of exhibition spaces and into the places we live in every day.

If art has the power to change the way we see the world, design can transform the way we live in it.

Piano Grezzo is where these two dimensions meet.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01

What is PIANO GREZZO?

PIANO GREZZO is a studio-workshop born from the meeting of artistic practice and everyday design. The project develops objects and furnishing accessories through a sculptural approach, where form, material, proportion and visual research become fundamental elements of the creative process.
02

What is the relationship between art and design in your work?

At PIANO GREZZO, the boundary between art and design lies in the design process itself. Every object is developed with the same care given to a work of art: volumes, visual balance, materials, light and shadow are all studied, turning artistic research into something made for everyday life.
03

Where can you buy handcrafted furnishing accessories?

Handcrafted furnishing accessories can be purchased through independent studios and workshops that directly oversee the creative and production process. PIANO GREZZO makes objects with a strong aesthetic and material identity, far removed from the logic of mass industrial production.
04

How do you furnish a home with unique design pieces?

Furnishing with unique pieces means creating personal, recognisable spaces through objects that engage with their surroundings. A signature design piece is not only practical: it helps define the atmosphere of a room through its form, material and visual presence.
05

What is the difference between artisan design and industrial design?

Industrial design is generally conceived for large-scale, standardised production, whereas artisan design keeps a more direct relationship with the material, experimentation and the creative process. At PIANO GREZZO, every project stems from research and from the balance between technical skill and artistic sensibility.
06

What does signature design mean?

Signature design is an approach in which every object carries a recognisable vision. It is not only about function, but also about the research into form, materials and the creative process that leads to the final piece.
07

Are PIANO GREZZO products one-of-a-kind pieces?

Yes. PIANO GREZZO creations are made as one-of-a-kind pieces or in extremely limited editions. This choice preserves the unrepeatable character typical of artistic research and enhances the relationship between design and craftsmanship.
08

Can you request a custom-made piece?

Yes. PIANO GREZZO also develops custom projects based on the needs of the client, the space and the context in which the object will live. Every request is approached as a unique design journey.
09

Which materials do you use?

The choice of materials is an integral part of the creative process. Each material is selected according to the character of the project, its aesthetic effect and the relationship it creates between surface, form and space.
10

How is a PIANO GREZZO object created?

Every object comes from a research journey that blends intuition, design and technical experimentation. From the initial idea to the development of the final form, each stage contributes to building a piece with its own identity.
11

Why choose a handcrafted object over an industrial product?

Choosing a handcrafted object means choosing a piece with a story, research and a distinctive character behind it. A PIANO GREZZO product is not made to be endlessly replicated, but to build a more personal and lasting bond with whoever chooses it.
12

Do you collaborate with architects, designers or artists?

Yes. PIANO GREZZO is open to collaborating with professionals, artists and creative studios interested in developing shared projects, with the aim of creating objects and spaces that combine aesthetic research and functionality.
